*We’re the party people night and day… well sort of. Here’s a quick run through of the biggest and best parties and events that the Salone has to offer this year.

Wallpaper* at the Bvlgari hotel
First on last night’s party hit list was Wallpaper’s new Editor-in-Chief Tony Chambers’ soiree at the Bvlgari hotel. The fantastic weather meant guests, including Gerry Helling from Bernhardt Design, Arik Levy and Nadia Swarovski were all out for the alfresco affair.

Marcel Wanders, Personal Editions Milan 2007
After loving and leaving the Bulgari, it was on to Marcel Wanders cocktail party. As we had collaborated with Marcel for our May Limited Edition cover and for our Global Edit I was keen to see the work and hopefully meet the man himself…

Persol Lounge
A party blagger’s work is never done. The Persol Supreme Collection party was just around the corner from Marcel Wanders, and despite wearing my new Persols I managed to find it quite easily. Wearing their sunglasses at night, looking and listening at the live double bass and projection in the Persol lounge were actor Joseph Fiennes and film director Alfonso Cuaron who won the ‘Persol Style Awards’ at last year’s Venice Film Festival for ‘Children of Men’. The Supreme Collection included Persol 649, 714 and 009.

spHaus
Most first day parties had now hushed, but the spHaus party was still making some noise. But as spHaus were finishing at 1am, me and my party posse managed to get one more ‘thirst quencher’ before heading back to Wallpaper’s temporary headquarters at the Principe di Savoia.

Principe di Savoia: ‘I didn’t get where I am today by leaving!’
Back at base, the night was still young, especially using the excuse that in reality if we were still on London time it was in fact a whole hour earlier and therefore babyish to call it a night just yet. ‘Never leave’ was the order of the fast approaching day. It proved a valid point as we got to meet Jean Nouvel and chatted with Ron Arad.
As the bar closed around 2am plan B swung into action and the champagne and beer trolley was soon winging its way to Mr Chambers’ suite as were 24 or so Wallpaper* party people. Once at Chambers chambre the music was turned up to 11 and the drinks were downed…
Tonight its Dolce & Gabbanna and Ron Arad, Armani Casa, Bisazza Home with Jaime Hayon and Studio Job, Lexus L-finesse Invisible Garden, Swarovski and KEF with Ross Lovegrove… wish me luck.Taxi!
