Though we’re starting to feel like scented candles might have had their decade in the spotlight, a late entry by hip French collective Kitsune, still appeals for its witty approach. 'Glace au Sesame Noir', or 'Black Sesame Seed Ice Cream', is a collaboration with the designer and perfumer James Heeley, and a slightly irreverent take on the candle craze.
Notes of vanilla, dark caramel, immortelle, honey and dry wheat give an idea of what the fragrance smells like. But it's the design that we like particularly, thousands of sesame seeds have been screen-printed onto the glass, which, when the candle is alight, appear backlit by the flame. In a nod to all things sesame, Kermit the Frog’s eyes make a guest appearance in the design too.
