If, like us, you strive to create an illusion of total unflappability whilst abroad, then a new service in two French hotels will definitely be up your street. Renowned hairdresser, John Nollet has bequeathed his master services to the Hotel Costes in Paris and the Hotel du Cheval Blanc in Courcheval with results a million miles from the wash and blow dry in the basement, that we suffer in most establishments.
Where you’d have to book months in advance for an appointment at Nollet’s salon, you can now phone room service in either hotel and have a hand-trained protégé sent to your room for a quick cut, colour, curl or straighten. The hairdresser turns up at your room with a bespoke Louis Vuitton trunk that opens to reveal a miniature salon meaning you can kick back with a glass of champagne and be transformed from bedraggled traveller to pristine princess in a few careful snips.
