Selfridges, now in its 100th year, has a long and illustrious history of artistic patronage. For the next two weeks, in proof of this point, the high street stalwart will be hosting its most philanthropic artistic event to date.

Produced in collaboration with Will Conibear and Donald Eastwood of murmurART - an online showcase for both emerging and established artists – Selfridges’ will exhibit work from 10 rising stars as chosen by 10 artistic luminaries including Tracey Emin, Conrad Shawcross, Kevin Spacey and Sir Peter Blake.

With scratchy figurative painting from Jo Robertson chosen by Tracey Emin, and taxidermy sculpture from Polly Morgan chosen by White Cube Director Tim Marlow, the work on show covers every base of the contemporary art zeitgeist.

The two week pop-up show will be the first in a series of exhibitions murmurART plan to present around London, selling pieces for reasonable prices, of which the artists will receive 100% re-numeration.

Aside from simply offering a foot up to artists in need, murmurART - in collaboration with Catriona Warren, the former editor of Art Review and leading curator Fiona Fiarbarn - also offer the service of an expert eye to up-and-coming collectors, selecting the best from, what is already, a rather good bunch,
