Challenging the perceptions of the cursory browser, the luscious, vivid landscapes in Michael Reisch’s monograph are mesmerising and baffling. The photographs - which are, in fact, carefully altered and enhanced images based on real African landscapes - contain no trace of civilization or humanity, but portray an idealised, timeless notion of nature.
