Always on the lookout for fresh creative talent, this years Hyères Festival International de Mode & de Photographie offered the perfect opportunity for us to seek out some aesthetic inspiration against the halcyon backdrop of Southern France. James Reid, our Photography Editor here at Wallpaper*, was lucky enough to spend a few (hard-toiling) days in Hyères – where he has plucked out his three highlights from the photography section of the festival for us to take a look at.
Growing steadily over the quarter decade since its conception, Hyères - founded by Jean-Pierre Blanc - was this year overseen by head juror (and creative director of Dior Homme) Kris van Assche. Along with a conversation with van Assche we’ve also managed to track down Mr Reid’s three top photographers for a good grilling, so be sure to take a look at our interviews with Alejandara Laviada, Ahndraya Parlato, Louise te Poele and of course, van Assche himself.
