Very little pleases us more than seeing the growth in appreciation of someone's work that we've taken a keen interest in. And as the London-based illustrator and previous Wallpaper* collaborator Hellovon opens his debut exhibition at Espeis in New York, we feel a certain amount of pride.

Von, the creative behind Hellovon, first came to our attention back in 2006 when we were bowled over by the way in which he managed to convey a very traditional style of sketching, whilst at the same time experimenting with digital techniques. This combination, which can often be so jarring, in the work of Hellovon makes for a series of deeply pleasing, ethereal illustrations.
For his solo show, Hellovon exhibits four original A0 drawings alongside a large body of his existing drawings. In addition, the illustrator created stop motion animations of each of the four prints, showing the process of how his images are created.
