Ultra-influential design bureau Pentagram have been producing pocket-sized publications since 1975, an annual ritual that allows the partnership to flex its creative muscles without client intervention and present a detailed treatise on something they’re really enthralled by.

If you’re unlucky enough to have dropped off their mailing list, The Pentagram Papers will acquaint you with this low-key but much-loved tradition. On the way, the partners have tackled the likes of anthropomorphic objects, collections of brushes and brooms, the rich decoration of London’s deco Lever House (refurbished by the group in 1979) and a wonderful selection of architectural toys, as well as a photographic journey through Norman Bel Geddes’ model for the 1937 City of Tomorrow. The edition even includes the latest Paper, created especially for the book.
