Fab 40: Ultzama Equestrian Centre, Navarre

Set in the middle of a green valley next to the Ultzama River, the exclusive Ultzama Equestrian Centre sits between the gentle hills of northern Navarre. Designed by architect Francisco Mangado, the centre took its cue from the strong local architecture as well as the architect’s self-confessed desire for clarity.

The complex combines spaces of different scales and uses, from the stalls to staff quarters and training areas, all laid out simply under a single roof. Upcoming work from the Pamplona-based architect includes a new auditorium in Teulada, with construction expected to finish later in the year.
